Harbour Towne Breakwater is Complete
The Fall 2008 completion of the breakwater project is expected to yield a significant dock repair savings in future years. The breakwater stretches over three quarters of a mile in front of the Harbour Towne complex. Now that docks are protected by the breakwater, the Homeowner's Association expects to save over $80,000 in repair expenses to modify the F Dock, alone.
Each of the breakwater's 70 concrete sections weighs over 3,500 pounds. A total of over 300 cables hold the sections in place as they absorb the lake's wake and wind action.
Homeowners should keep in mind that swimming or fishing from the breakwater is strictly prohibited.
